RESEARCH AND LINKAGES SUB UNITS

 
The Department consists of four sub units with specific functions defined below:

1.    THE INSTITUTIONAL LINKAGES UNIT: This unit is involved in promoting academic and Technical Collaborations with Local and Foreign Institutions, Public and Private Organizations, Government Agencies and Multinationals. It might take the form of students exchange, Joint research, assistance for foreign exchange students/staff, material exchanges, training/technical assistance, Joint and dual degree programmes, admission agreements, technology exchanges etc.

2.    RESEARCH UNIT:
This unit is mandated to identify various research projects that would benefit staff and students in the University. It may take the form of identifying and subscribing to the project or partnering with the research and development department of the parent institution where the research is conceived.

3.    PUBLIC-PRIVATE-PARTNERSHIP: The University through this unit institutes partnerships with local and foreign institutions, government and private organizations, ministries departments and agencies and individuals. The University and an identified partner through an agreement or binding MOU identifies priority projects and agrees on modalities to institute plan and execute the project after passing thorough due process. Also, a detailed plan of financing/funding of the project will be discussed and agreements documented.

4.    ACADEMIC EXCHANGES: The unit is involved in sourcing for academic exchanges, research grants, government and company sponsored conferences and scholarships, University-Industry staff/student’s exchanges, students work experience programme openings, industrial attachments, etc. This information after sourcing is made available to the University staff and students.
