For admission into Basic Studies (Pre-Degree) programme of the University, candidate must satisfy all admission requirements prescribed by the Departments and Colleges of choice. Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 credit passes in not more than 2 sittings. Please refer to Undergraduate Programme O’ level requirements.

For admission into FUPRE and other affiliate institutions, candidate must satisfy all admission requirements prescribed by the Departments and Colleges of choice in addition to passing JUPEB examination. Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 credit passes in not more than 2 sittings. Please refer to Undergraduate Programme O’ level requirements.

Criteria for Admission to 200 Level
Students will sit for the JUPEB Examination at the end of the programme and will be able to transition into 200 Level in FUPRE or any of the JUPEB Affiliated Universities both in Nigeria and abroad if successful. The course allocated will be determined by the level of performance in JUPEB Examination.

To be admitted into any of the departments in the Undergraduate programme, interested applicants must apply through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) body and have the required score for the admission session, having met the minimum 5 credit O’Level required by the department of interest in not more than two sittings in the GCE, SSCE, WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.

(3) COLLEGE OF MARITIME AND OFFSHORE STUDIES

(4) COLLEGE OF COMPUTING

(5) COLLEGE OF PETROLEUM ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT

All candidates shall satisfy the O’ Level requirements for matriculation into first degree programmes of the University. Five (5) credit passes in not more than two (2) sittings including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) other relevant science subjects.

Applicants shall have one of the following qualifications:

A. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
i. Graduates of FUPRE and other approved universities with at least a third class degree.
ii. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant programmes from approved institutions.

B. Master Degree
i. A first degree with at least a second-class lower division from FUPRE or any other approved University.
ii. A candidate with a qualification lower than second-class lower division but has an upper credit in the postgraduate diploma shall be considered for admission.

C. Doctor of Philosophy
An applicant must possess a Master degree with research dissertation and a weighted coursework average which shall normally not be less than 60% (B) or a minimum CGPA of 3.50. Additional requirements include
